Peter Bogdanovich is one of the most celebrated film directors in modern times. He’s also a noted authority on Hollywood and the history of cinema. In the 1980s he created a series of five-minute film reviews for TV, and they’re all worth watching. In this episode, Bogdanovich discusses the 1962 John Wayne classic, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.

Love this film, one of the best of Ford's, Wayne's, Marvin's, Miles', and Stewart's careers--along with great character actors Andy Devine, Strother Martin, and Lee Van Cleef, and others. But I disagree that Tom was Hallie's true love (just as I can't imagine any newspaper or newspaperman passing on the story Rance tells. Pierce the legend!).
